BELAPUR

Project: Belapur

The Belapur project, managed by the Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP) under the Ahmednagar division, is a comprehensive initiative designed to significantly enhance the region’s water supply infrastructure. With a focus on ensuring a reliable and sustainable water distribution system, the project involves the construction and maintenance of an extensive distribution network.

The project features a robust pipeline network, with the Distribution Network RWPM/PWP stretching across 100,507 meters. This network is further supported by 4 major pumping stations, ensuring efficient water flow across the vast area. Additionally, the project includes RWRM/GM pipelines extending 8,904 meters and PWRM/GM pipelines spanning 18,213 meters, which are critical in maintaining consistent water pressure and distribution to various zones within the region.

Central to the project’s success are two advanced Water Treatment Plants (WTPs). The primary WTP located in Belapur has a substantial capacity of 4.0 Million Liters per Day (MLD), ensuring that a large volume of water is treated daily to meet the region’s demand. Complementing this is another WTP in Ainatpur with a capacity of 2.0 MLD, which collectively enhances the water treatment capabilities, providing a steady supply of clean and safe drinking water to the local population.

The entire Belapur project is a significant investment in the region’s future, with a project cost of ₹126.70 crores. This investment reflects the commitment to not only meet the current water needs but also to create a sustainable infrastructure that will support the area’s growth and development for years to come.

By integrating modern engineering practices with a focus on sustainability, the Belapur project plays a pivotal role in securing water resources, ensuring that the community has access to a reliable and high-quality water supply. This initiative marks a major step forward in the region’s infrastructure development, contributing to improved living standards and overall community well-being.
